Bad Brakes can be a Major Safety Issue

brakes

Do not be a statistic !  Many trucking accidents occur do to mechanical failure.  The conditions most found are brake failures and defective tires.  In fact, a recent study sponsored by the Department of Transportation (DOT) found that 29.4% of all large truck crashes involved brake failure, brakes out of adjustment, or other brake-related issues.

These type of conditions could be avoided with regular preventative maintenance performed by the good men at Scott’s Mobile Repair.   Scott’s Mobile Repair is dedicated to making sure your truck is in tip top condition before your next haul.  As a Federal DOT Inspection Station, our technicians are trained to look for conditions that could be a potential hazard and correct them before your truck is driven next.

BRAKES:

Federal regulations mandate brake wear specifications. For example, air disc brakes must have 1⁄16 of an inch of lining; air drum brakes must have 1⁄4 of an inch. Some types of failures can cause a spring brake to stick on. If the air chamber that retracts a (parking) spring brake fails, it’s a simple procedure to install a caging bolt to manually force the brake to disengage. Carry one along.

Scott’s Mobile Repair is dedicated to you and a long relationship with your truck.  Our goal is always, safety first.  Give us a call

Honoring the 19 Loss Firefighters from Arizona

fallen victims

Sunday, violent wind gust turned what was believed to be an easily managed lightning-ignited forest fire, into an out of control inferno that claimed the lives of an elite team of Fire Fighters.

In an unfortunate turn of events, a wind shift and other factors caused a central Arizona fire, which now spans 8,400 acres, to become erratic.   These tragic circumstances trapped 19 elite firefighters (members of the Prescott Fire Department’s Granite Mountain Hotshots ) causing their untimely deaths.

Scott’s Mobile Repair would like to take this opportunity to Honor those men who fought fearlessly to battle the fire of Yarnell Hill.  These men in doing the job they love have given the ultimate sacrifice.  There battle is now done but their brave efforts and sacrifice will be remembered by all the people that their story has touched. We send our prayers to the fallen hero’s of the Granite Mountain Hotshots and our hearts go out to the families and loved ones they have left behind.
